    Best sportsbooks, ranked

Licensed bookmakers scored on genuine price competitiveness rather than headline promotions. We track margins across major leagues, market depth, limits on winning accounts and withdrawal reliability.

    How our desk approaches sportsbooks

We rank sportsbooks on the price you pay every week, because the margin baked into a line costs far more over a season than any welcome offer returns.

Our desk samples prices weekly across the major leagues, converts them to a hold percentage and keeps the series running for at least four weeks before we publish a score. A book that shades its main markets by a point or two will quietly cost a regular bettor more than a $200 sign-up credit ever pays back.

The second half of the work is behavioural. We fund real accounts, place bets including in-play, then request withdrawals through more than one method and time them to the hour. We also record whether a book restricts or limits an account after modest winning activity, because a great price is worthless if you cannot get on.

Availability is state by state. Online sportsbooks are live in most of the country, while a smaller group of states allows retail wagering only and several, including California and Texas, still have no legal market. Our state pages list only the books that can legally accept you where you are.

    Our weekly sportsbook checks

    • Average hold on point spreads, moneylines and totals across sampled markets.
    • Same-game parlay pricing compared with the equivalent single-leg prices.
    • Live betting delay, bet acceptance rate and void behaviour.
    • Withdrawal timing on two methods, measured to the hour.
    • Account limiting or restriction after a run of winning bets.

    Sportsbooks: common questions

A welcome offer is paid once. The margin inside a price is charged on every bet you make, so it compounds. Pricing and fees carry 30% of the score in our methodology, while promotions carry 10%.
